Are You Landscaping A Large Property In The Country?

Posted on: 11 October 2017

Have you recently bought a country home with large acreage? Perhaps your dream of leaving the hustle and bustle of city life has finally come true. If you are raising your children in the country, you are probably excited about them having natural surroundings as their play place. Planning what you'll do with your large acreage might be a bit daunting, but it doesn't have to be. From making a plan to buying a tractor, here are some ideas that might help you as you landscape your large property in the country:

Make A Plan -

How do you want to use your large property? For example, do you want part of the land to have concrete as its foundation? That would be great for establishing a place to play games like basketball or tennis. Are you wanting a vegetable garden? If so, you'll want to plan for that from the beginning. You get the picture!

  • Put a detailed plan onto paper.
  • Get ideas from house and garden magazines.
  • Get input from your spouse and your children.
  • Set goals of when you want certain ideas to be accomplished.

Long-Term Care -

Once you have established exactly what you want on your acreage, consider how you will maintain what you have established. For example, if you are having a concrete area, you'll want to have it resurfaced periodically. if you are doing the landscaping work yourself, you will probably need a tractor. A large tractor will be most helpful when it's time to clear the land for your landscaping projects. In addition, consider purchasing a small tractor that will be perfect for keeping your lawn beautiful.

  • Consider where you will store the tractor or tractors.
  • What kind of warranty do the tractors have?
  • Keep all warranties and other paperwork from the tractor purchase in a safe place.

If you aren't really sure about what type tractor you'll need, do some research first. Study manuals, talk to friends who own tractors and talk to salespeople who sell both large and small tractors. Besides answering questions you have, experienced people will more than likely have suggestions and ideas that you didn't even think to ask. Find out, too, if you can find a good deal on resale tractors that have been well taken care of by the previous owner. Remember that, though it's nice to have a good-looking piece of equipment, how it does the job is really what counts the most.
